feng shui

   (feng shway, fung shooay) [Chinese: wind and water] The ancient Chinese art of placement and rearrangement that enables people to find the most favorable location for a home, a workplace, or for structural elements and objects within those surroundings. Based on theories derived from the I-Ching, feng shui teaches that buildings and landscapes have invisible zones of energy that must flow freely to allow inhabitants to achieve success and prosperity.
